Hi guys I’ve decided to create a brand new contest for you ^^ I HOPE YOU LIKE THIS ONE!

Ok the main idea;

As you know lately I’ve been submitting lots of work based on my FMP character Yafe.

This character is actually quite a complex character and even just thinking of a name for her was a lengthy process. But it was well worth the research!

She basically represents the figure in authority that is bent by the media to become a figure of responsibility and hate and ridicule much like our PM. I don’t sympathize with some of those figures but there are people that try to make everyone happy and safe and we just complain about their exploits. it’s not a rant lol. its and observation from history looking at the way we react to different people, and that’s my main theme for my future project.

the character herself is her own representation, her clothes, hair, face, and special feature, are what set the image of who this person is. she has clown like features to show ridicule, and a dark rich velvet suit and hat to show authority and restriction. the rest I leave to the imagination of the viewer.

ok so here’s my challenge for YOU! it took me 3 months to come up with this character, CAN YOU DO BETTER! think of a character with the same principle as I did and it doesn’t matter if it’s as plain as a piece of paper because it's the idea I want you to show me in this contest! create a character that is an observational study of either your life, historical figures or stereotypes. I want you to really think about this and recommend you do it because it's a brilliant way to help you develop your thinking skills for your work. it helped me ^^

Rules:

. ONE character only --- I’ll except twins but you need to explain the reason there are two ^^

. Names --- not actually nesecerry because sometimes name suggest identity

. DONT copy others --- ESPESIALY mine ^^ ill know lol and ill know if there are any copied characters from other stories and such coz I have a secret character identifier, my BF lol

. Send me (through notes) a full detailed description of your idea behind the character so I can understand your work more, or send me a link to you page with the character on and the description in the... em... description bit 0_o?

. It needs to be human --- or human like but I only say that to try and limit and refine the idea more ^^ see what you can do with that

. NO RASISM, SEXISM, PREJUDICE, OR BLAITENT PORN ^^ please however if you can justify your creation ill except stereotypes and artistic nudes

. DON'T RUSH --- seriously the worst mistakes you can make are rushed so take your time ^^ I completely understand that’s why there won’t be a deadline until later on in the year.

. don't over complicate it --- I will be making this character after all so I don’t mind detail as most of my latest work is just that but I won't make something from chobits or anything like that coz I don’t have the time lol try and simplify your complex character down to a simple composition ^^ a big challenge !

. and finally; it needs to be your work! not your mums or whatever coz ill know ^^

. HAVE FUN ^^ it’s a wonderful experience bringing an in-depth character you worked hard on to life, it’s your child not just a picture and you can portray it in any way you want whatever medium you wish (eg. photography, paint, sculpture ect.)

the WINNER will have their character brought to life by me through at least 1 painting, photo shoots, including the costume and accessories being made by me ^^ every part of the character will be recreated and after the photo shoot YOU will receive the costume of your character ^^ YOU CAN COSPLAY AS YOUR OWN CHARACTER FOR FREE !!!!!

the second prize will receive my own analysis of the character plus a permanent feature and a painting/ drawing!

the prize for the 3rd runner up is a feature and an article about your work ^^ a nice one lol and a sketch of your character from me ^^

the rest of you, including the winners, will receive the most valuable gift you could have, the skill to balance a simple image with a complex plot perfectly and the satisfaction that no matter what happens now, you will always have the ability to perfect your work to make a truly fantastic piece of work!

I’m not doing this for anything for me, I just want to pass on what I learnt at college that really helpt me with my work, it’s a fantastic way to broaden your work and trust me, you won’t get board ^^
